PROJECTS
Location: St Ives
When Adam and Karla purchased their dream home in St Ives, they needed a tiler who could bring their grand vision to life. That’s where we came in. This was a mammoth project that included multiple areas, each with its own unique challenge.
We started by laying beautiful limestone tiles on the balcony, sunroom, and around the pool, creating a seamless and elegant outdoor living space. The project also included a complete renovation of their laundry and two bathrooms. In these spaces, we installed intricate 20x20cm pattern tiles, classic 30x60cm white rectified tiles, and stunning 2400x1200 porcelain panels, which required precision and expertise. The final result was a home that perfectly matched their vision, blending luxury and practicality in every detail.
Customer testimonial:
We have most recently engaged Tiler by Trade to complete an extensive re-tiling project, which involved:
1. Demolition of terracotta tile (done by others)
2. Screeding and tiling of floors, including grouting and silicon
3. Screeding and tiling of steps and risers
4. Waterproofing of required areas
5. Installation of various floor grates, e.g. linear drain
6. Significant sub-surface preparation
7. Rectification of out of alignment areas
Based on weeks of working with Sang and his Dad, I would highly recommend Tiler by Trade for any work. I have outlined some of the key aspects below, as there are too many to mention.
MATERIAL SELECTION: Sang only uses the highest quality materials to meet the project’s requirements, this includes glues, sand, grout, silicones and sealers, just to mention a few. I have learned a huge amount over the weeks working with Sang, including about the importance of quality of material selection and their application. It should be noted that whilst Sang ensures that the best possible materials are used, he is also cost conscious and suggests alternatives where possible, without compromising on quality or the finished end-result. Sang has significant experience in material selection and knowledge of tiles, which makes any tiling project a breeze.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Tiler by Trade’s many years of experience and technical knowledge is self-evident from the first interaction you have with Sang, where he takes you through the work scope and takes the time to explain the key aspects of the job. Sang also regularly provides updates throughout the job. Other important aspects that I have observed throughout this work applied by Tiler by Trade, is their understanding and application of falls & levels, consideration of expansion/shrinkage and any movement – things that aren’t constructed by a tiler, but certainly considered at all times by Sang. This was especially important during our renovation project, due to the existing foundations and other site conditions.
QUALITY: Not only does Sang deliver work of the highest technical standard, Sang is constantly reviewing and adjusting the work where required. Sang is always ensuring that the finished result looks great and checks with the client to ensure that they understand what is being completed. Again, this is something rare in most industries.
COMMUNICATION: Sang communicates exceptionally well, from the very start, throughout the project and at the close out phase. Sang lets you know whenever there are any changes and checks-in with you for any approval of anything of significance.
COORDINATION & COOPERATION: During the project Tiler by Trade was extremely easy to work with, Sang’s easy going manner and can-do approach allowed him (and us) to comfortably work with other trades such as the plumber, electrician, concreter etc. Sang and his Dad, are the definition of “going out of their way” to assist their client. Nothing is a problem.
TRANSPARENCY & HONESTY: Sang and his Dad, are the most honest contractors anyone will come across. This combined with their clear communication and transparency, you feel entirely comfortable with the process and the work being delivered. It was a real pleasure to work with Sang and his Dad, and as an additional point, whilst working at your site/home, they are hugely considerate to ensure minimal disruption to your day-to-day activities. They do this whilst working extremely hard to deliver the work, which is often labour intensive. Hence, as already stated before, I would highly recommend Tiler by Trade for any work and look forward to our bathroom renovation with them.
Who looks forward to renovations? I do, when working with Tiler by Trade!
Adam
